Mechanical Technician – £30-40k

Based in London, we have an exciting new opportunity for a Mechanical Technician to join an internationally established company to work on the development of IOT of Connected Devices focused within Health, wellbeing and fitness related technology.
The new valued member of the team will provide and maintain workshop facilities, alongside Prototyping for our Engineering teams. A new, multi-functional role, working with and supporting our engineering teams, as well as the prototyping and workshop departments.
The Mechanical Technician will be required to support the functions of both the In-house Rapid Prototyping facilities and Workshop. Working proactively to build product/engineering rigs, oversee, maintain and determine scheduling of the 3D printer and bea point of call and knowledge for engineering teams when in-house facilities are being developed. Hands-on involvement in product builds, prototyping and testing.
The ideal candidate will have:
– Minimum HND or BSc in engineering, design or model making or industry experience to the equivalent.
– Previous background in engineering, design, model making and electrical safety.
– Working knowledge of Workshop equipment, Rapid Prototyping machines, Product assembly including electrical and mechanical skills, CAD and 3D print software experience.
In addition the successful candidate will have:
– Requires excellent communication skills, both verbal and written along with good sound interpersonal skills.
– Detail-oriented, versatile, organised, articulate and professional.
– Desire to make a big impact and work independently.
– Passionate.
– Solidworks experience desirable.
